When a nursing center is really serious about rehabilitation, you take people out into the world and re-teach them to navigate day-to-day responsibilities so they can resume a normal life post surgery/injury. Recovery Lane, located in our therapy room, simulates Main Street USA with store fronts, a sidewalk with a curb, mailbox, stop sign, ATM machine, and much more. There’s even a supermarket with a refrigerated section, shelves and a cashier. It’s amazing to see how independent people become once they learn the skills to function in their own community. Patients feel as though they are getting a part of their lives back when they can achieve tasks independently. At AristaCare, we make sure our rehab patients are aware of their limitations and that they are taught how to compensate their way safely.
