Rehab Program Overview
Our rehab services utilize the latest programs, and the finest new equipment and devices to ensure that you receive the highest caliber acute level resources up to seven days a week. Our expert rehab team is constantly setting higher goals for our patients, and the positive encouragement and supportive environment we offer helps our patients push themselves further. We are also equipped with a variety of other balance devices, ergometers, bikes, weights and other pieces of equipment that assist us in reaching the highest level of functioning with all of our patients in the most expeditious manner.

Biodex Balance SystemBiodex Balance System
This balance system is used for both assessment and treatment. It tests balance in four different ways: postural stability; limits of stability; single leg stability and fall risk testing. The measurements from each test are clearly defined and objective. These results are printed out and used for comparison in future tests to demonstrate a patient’s progress. The treatment mode of this system has several different components which train the patient in their areas of deficiency. The training mode has a high patient compliance due to its game-like quality.

Biodex Gait TrainerBiodex Gait Trainer
This treadmill system is used for assessment and treatment. In the assessment mode, the therapist is able to print out objective measurements about various components of the gait pattern. In the training mode, a computer screen shows the patient their actual gait pattern and gives them cues as to what to do to normalize the gait pattern. It works as a type of visual biofeedback.

LiteGait®
LiteGaitAs part of our commitment to providing the very best in patient care, we are proud to incorporate LiteGait®, a device which facilitates effective, efficient training of posture, balance and locomotion, while keeping the patient safely supported. As a gait therapy device which promotes the generation  of normal walking patterns, LiteGait represents a major advancement in clinical gait therapy.

The unique design of LiteGait:

  • facilitates proper upright posture
  • allows the normal leg extension required for proper gait
  • eliminates the risk and fear of falling
  • is like an extra set of hands for therapists
  • frees the therapist to observe gait patterns and make manual corrections in limb placement, weight shift, and step timing
  • stimulates walking when used over treadmill
  • lets patient easily move from treadmill gait therapy to over ground walking, aiding in the transfer of newly developed gait patterns
  • allows training with an assistive device, making the transition to or from the assistive device safe and effective
  • gives clinicians more treatment options with the versatile FlexAble™ Yoke

The partial weight bearing gait therapy approach has been shown to be effective for a variety of diagnoses including patients with CVA (Stroke), Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, Amputees, and other neurological (Parkinson's, MS) and orthopedic conditions.
